The Challenge

Camp Lurecrest serves hundreds of campers each summer with a full program that includes medication administration, check-in and check-out processing, and camp store operations. Before FunFangle, each of these critical touchpoints operated on a separate manual system.

The nurse's station relied on paper binders to track medication schedules. Check-in and check-out were equally manual. When a parent arrived to pick up a camper, staff had to visually confirm identity and manually check authorization. Bus arrivals required processing dozens of campers through a chaotic, clipboard-based system.

The Solution

FunFangle's RFID wristband became the universal identity token across all three operational domains at Camp Lurecrest. The same wristband that processes a purchase at the camp store also verifies a camper's identity at the nurse's station and confirms authorized pickup at check-out.

At the health station, nurses scan the camper's wristband to instantly see their medication schedule, allergies, and medical conditions. Every dose administered is timestamped and recorded. Color-coded wristbands provide an additional visual safety layer, allowing staff to immediately identify campers with allergies or special medical needs.

At check-out, staff scan the wristband, confirm the camper's identity, and verify that the person picking them up is authorized. Every transition is logged.

“When they go to the nurse's station, they scan the bracelet, we see what medications we need to deliver, and we have a record of administrating that medication.”
